Try OpenOffice

OpenOffice is a great free alterative to Microsoft Office. Will open most all files including word, PPT and so on.

Watch for the new Firefox coming out end of the month or beginning of next.

“Wow has it really been this long..” I guess that is what you say when you act ashamed of the lack of effort when doing a blog. Well let me say..

The Personal Side

The rest of the move is done. Well kinda I got all my stuff from my rents house. Even the basement. =)
Goals coming up Clean my Apt because my stuff is now everywhere. I see that I’m a pack rat and need to though way a lot of old stuff.
Family going threw some ruff stuff so do pray.
I finally got some cash.. wahoo I get to pay off Credit Cards.
School is good.. I think they never really tell you your grade. I’ve been doing a lot of papers. They pretty well say the same thing. Great Ideas but the grammar and structure needs work. (Yet, they never tell me how ;) )
Parents are in a organize frenzy. They are cleaning the basement, and house.
Phil got an iPod for free… yeah free… wait it cost though.. ask time for more questions.
Helped Travis this week with a Don’t Do Drugs talk @ the middle school. IT was odd to be in the middle of the gym by my self (later Joe came and sit by me.) Running PPT and Videos.
Painting youth room and stands for Pipeline Youth. We go back to the church next month.. wow that was fast 2(seems like just 5 months ago.. wait....)
Another friend got married Jeff & Jenni Marner (good for them)

Learning and starting to use HTA = HTML + VBScripts.
Using HTA to make a great setup program
Using graphics to show installs, checkboxes to help choice software, and textboxes to have people enter in information. Form style much easier to setup the computers.

so I knew I was going to be bad @ keeping this updated.
Personal
the Personal Side

The big move is done. (Very happy with my new place.) Happy to be near Jenny =)
Phil, Travis, and others are back from the missions trip and have some great stories how they where used by God.
I still need to go through alot of junk/memories/stuff I got over years that is still in my room.
My car needs new tires =( Jenny was driving my car last Thursday and took out a tire .. Which sucks.. Just more money to give out. (Money I do not have.)
I've been with Jenny alot this last week. He has cooked alot & I really enjoy it. -(she enjoys my tech skills)
Parents are back from Hawaii and had a great time. I'm so happy for them, they need time away just to be with each other. I really look up to them. I think I always will , what awesome people.
My Eastern Illinois University has started... I had first classes this week. I'm Majoring in Communications Studies with a minor in CIS. Ill keep you posted on that.
Phil moved back to MN. for college. He is moving with Muffin (Joey Howell) and another friend. Good luck for that (ill be praying). I Miss him already, He is such a great friend.

Worked on a CD to update windows...

Updates.. In addition, more updates Windows XP needs them.
I used Batch Script to see if the computer needs a particular update and then installs it from the disk. kind of nifty WE used it alot.

Cisco Clean Access

This was a big deal - move in day was CrAzy I worked ALOT of PC. From Updating Windows, Uninstalling Antivirus(not a big fan of McAfee, Installing Antivirus Symantec, Norton, to changing user’s passwords and looking up users usernames. I helped them all. (and had a blast)
The Network is still up so CCA has done its job.

I enjoy helping Cord out in move in he was a lot of fun.
Meet some really cool guys like Steve, Josh, and Greg that where in the field(residents halls)

Made a few disks that was alot of help

Tech CD had some really good programs. (adaware, Microsoft AntiSpyware, Symantec Antivirus, IE Cashe, Firefox)
Windows update disk. saved alot of time

yeah daily use of blog is way out of the question.

Personal

Going to sign a lease for my 1st Apt.
Phil, Travis, and others from 1st Assembly, went on a missions trip.
Started sorting my stuff, threw away 4 trash bags out of my room.
Found out the smell in my car was not jenny's food, but melons that my mom put in my car.
Get to see Jenny next Monday... So exited I miss her alot, she means so much to me.
Parents go to Hawaii next Sat.
Softball is over.. we get like 10th of 14st.. wahoo...

Worked on SpeedyInstall 2

Start to finish CD (including OS, Settings, Software, Domain Access, etc.
More Server level access. (easier to update)

Cisco Clean Access

Login to the network with username and password for all dorms and students
Makes all computers have an Antivirus and Windows updates

i like the idea, Less Virus = Less headaches

Helped make a Tech CD

CD will be handed out to all students to help get there computer on the network.

hey everybody I'm back @ work @ EIU. (Wahoo)

What I got done today.

Rebuilt my desk. (I got moved to another cube.)
Went over to the Transfers and got more information about transferring my LLC over to EIU
Got all my stuff together
Eat lunch @ Union (umm Pizza - Trying not to eat as much pizza this year)
Drove to Jenny's APT and got her mail & tried to figure out what is making my car smell (prob Jenny's cooking somewhere in there).
Started blog to see what I have done throughout the year.

Ill update more later.
